Excuse 1: I don’t have enough time
You have all the time you need. It’s never a time issue, it’s a priority issue. Each of us has the same amount of time as the person who accomplishes all the things we want, they just make the time available.
Excuse 2: Its easier for others because…
Most of the time, those who are successful in the areas you want to be are the ones who are disciplined. Find out the habits of those who are ahead of you and begin to develop similar habits.
Excuse 3: I don’t have the resources necessary to do what I want.
It may be true that you don’t have the resources necessary right now, but the reality is that resources flow to those who are moving toward a goal. Start moving in the direction and break it down into small steps (a health coach can help you with that) and the resources will come!
Excuse 4: It might not work – I might be no good!
Everything in life that has potential rewards also involves risk. There are many wise things you can do before going forward to minimize risk, but any dream or vision worth pursuing requires a certain amount of risk. If what your doing currently doesn’t work then your going to have to change something and that means risking the comfort blanket that you exist in – the people you surround yourself with, the choices you make, the habits you follow. If the reward outweighs the risk – go for it!
Excuse 5: I don’t like failure
Get over it. Failure is a part of life. It’s not a matter of whether or not you’ll fail, what’s important is how you handle and view failure. Failure can be an invaluable tool for growth, it allows you the opportunity to change and grow – improve. Change is not always easy it’s the fact that you keep moving forward that’s important – even when you hit the bumps in the road!
